A study was conducted to see if multivitamin supplements have an effect on telomere length. Telomeres are caps that protect chromosomes. Telomeres indicate age.  With age, new cells end up with shorter telomeres.  Shorter telomeres are associated with aging and growing older while longer ones are associated with longevity. The result of the study: women that took vitamins supplements had longer telomeres.
