It is very important to maintain a healthy blood sugar level, rather than an elevated one. Elevated blood sugar can damage the blood vessels. Therefore, maintaining a healthy blood sugar level can help maintain healthy blood vessels.
Diabetics can benefit from Vitamin C intake. In a recent diabetic study, normalizing the blood sugar with insulin therapy was not enough to repair the damage that was done to the blood vessels. However, when Vitamin C was given in addition to the therapy, the blood vessels were better!

Studies show that Vitamin deficiencies are more common that you might think. Here is why many people are not getting enough vitamin D in their diet:
First of all, milk, one of the most potent dietary sources of vitamin D, does not give you enough Vitamin D and is often in the form of vitamin D2, which is not as effective at maintaining vitamin D levels as vitamin D3, so you may have less Vitamin D in your bloodstream that you realize.
Secondly, since daily fish consumption is not recommended, due to the environmental issues with fish, getting enough vitamin D3 to truly benefit your health could be more challenging than you think. (more…)

The Res-Q brand multivitamin has vitamin D3
If you think you are getting enough vitamin D in milk, think again.
First of all, the amount of Vitamin D found in the average glass of milk is only a small fraction of the total minimum amount that you need every day in order to stay healthy.
Secondly, the form of vitamin D commonly added to our milk supply in the form of Vitamin D2, also known as ergocalciferol, is an inferior form. Vitamin D2, a form commonly found in some vitamin supplements, milk, and cereal is the synthetic form of the vitamin and is not as effective at maintaining blood levels of Vitamin D. (more…)

Vitamin A is good for vision, immune system, plus growth and development. Vitamin A helps maintain a normal cell function called differentiation that is common to everyone.
Vitamin C is good for immune system, cholesterol health, arterial health, and wound healing. Vitamin C encourages collagen. Collagen is a protein that holds the cells in place, and promotes healthy, flexible, blood vessels. (more…)

Vitamin C can help maintain healthy arteries. Arteries consist of collagen and citamin C encourages collagen, a material that is important to the structure of the arteries. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant that helps maintain the health of the arteries by minimizing the oxidation of the cholesterol. Our circulatory system consisting of the heart and blood vessels is the very reason that we are alive.
One of the reasons that we watch our cholesterol number and diet is to help slow down the deposits on the artery wall that form over time blocking the arteries and restricting blood flow. It would be a smart approach to do good things for our arteries before this damage occurs and put the same amount of focus on prevention as we do with treatment.
